Eddie Eckstein was one of the founder members of the group The Bats. The Bats disbanded in 1980, after a period of 16 years, he then followed a solo career, and now they have re-formed with Derek Gordon in place of Barry Jarman, and they have had huge acclaim wherever they have performed!
During his ‘first stint’ with The Bats, he represented South Africa at the Tokyo Song Festival and his song “Oh God Its Beautiful”, which was composed by fellow Bat Paul Ditchfield, came 11th out of 35 countries
For those with a LONG memory, he was one of the comedians in the popular TV show “Biltong and Potroast”.
Eddie Eckstein has participated in international shows such as the one in the Algarve, Portugal, when they ran a Springbok weekend for ex South Africans.
In between theatre and T V appearances, Eddie is fully employed in corporate cabaret for major companies countrywide.
