“Best Stand-Up Comedian at the SA Comedy Awards in 2008”, Nik Rabinowitz has an impressive grasp of multiple languages - and a passion for goats ! He has established himself as South Africa’s top Jewish, Xhosa-speaking comedian (are there any others?).With an impressive grasp of multiple languages, and a passion for goats, Nik Rabinowitz has established himself as South Africa’s top Jewish, Xhosa-speaking comedian.
Nik Rabinowitz grew up on a farm in Plumstead West (a.k.a. Constantia) Cape Town, where he learnt to climb trees, throw pots and speak isiXhosa. After graduating from UCT with a Business Science Degree, he travelled Southern Africa with a theatre company and a herd of donkeys until it all went somewhat pear-shaped. His stand-up comedy career began shortly thereafter, appearing on Comedy Showcase as renowned Zimbabwean donkey-rustler Jabulani Ndlovu.
Familiar to Prmedia Radio audiences for the week that wasn't and South African television viewers as the whacky presenter of SABC 1’s Coca-Cola Megamillions Gameshow and M-Web’s train-surfing lycra-bodysuit guy, Nik has produced and starred in various one man shows (the latest the acclaimed One Man One Goat), has been featured in a number of local and international comedy festivals and performed for organisations across the continent.
His corporate clients include: ACKERMANS ; ASPEN PHARMACEUTICALS ; B.P. ; B.O.E.) ; CLICKS ; CLOVER ; COCA-COLA Nigeria & South Africa ; The Departments of AGRICULTURE, EDUCATION, HEALTH, MARINE COASTAL MANAGEMENT, PUBLIC WORKS & TRANSPORT ; DISTELL ; LUFTHANSA ; M.A.N.
