Deborah Parkinson is a professional musician, playing the Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute. She studied at the Royal College of Music, London and whilst there, played at The Barbican, The Festival Hall and Saint John’s Smith Square. She is also a ‘Fellow’ of Trinity College, London.
She has performed at many well-known venues, such as Des & Dawn Lindberg’s Soirée Society, The Samuel Marx Museum, The State Theatre, The Linder Auditorium, Mount Grace, The Wild Coast Sun, Sun City, The Westcliffe, Sandton Sun & Towers and the Blue Train and at numerous promotions varying from shopping centres to charity balls and the launch of a new aircraft! She has played in concerts with Julian Lloyd Webber, Helmut Lotti, The 3 Tenors and under the baton of Sir David Wilcox, as well as being a regular player with the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. On the contemporary side, she has played alongside Tové Kane, PJ Powers, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Sibongile Kumalo and Vicky Sampson. Recent television appearances include the opening of the All Africa Games and the Dunhill Symphony of Fire.
Her repertoire encompasses light classical, mellow jazz, well-known classics, ballads, contemporary music, popular songs and Christmas music, all alternating between the saxophone, clarinet, flute and keyboard. Deborah’s music will add style and a feeling of good taste to any event or celebration.
