JJ (Jean Jacques) Cornish

Today he works for Talk Radio 702, 567 CapeTalk, Mail&Guardian and Agence France Presse, reporting on international affairs with particular emphasis on Africa.

But JJ is a relatively recent convert to radio. Having been a print journalist for more than 30 years, with training in South Africa and Zimbabwe, he spent three years covering parliament for SAPA. He was posted abroad where he served as London bureau chief and special correspondent to the United Nations.

He joined the then Argus group in London as political editor. Faced with the prospect of covering as third term of Maggie Thatcher's government, he returned to South Africa in the mid eighties. He was assistant editor of the Pretoria News, diplomatic editor for the Independent Group and editor of The Star & SA Times International - a publication for South African.
