Thomas Msengana

With a broadcasting career spanning more than two decades, Thomas Msengana is one of South Africa’s most respected and recognisable radio personalities. Known for his sharp wit, magnetic presence and deep connection to local audiences, Thomas has become a trusted voice across the country’s top radio stations and a polished presence on live and corporate stages.

His career began in Cape Town at Good Hope FM in the late 1990s, where he cut his teeth alongside legends like Randall Abrahams and Mark Gillman. He soon became one of the founding voices of YFM, where his influence helped shape the sound of youth radio in South Africa, working alongside other household names like DJ Fresh and Oskido. By 2006, he had moved to Metro FM – home to one of the country’s largest radio audiences, where he became host of the flagship breakfast show for three years.

Over the years, Thomas has worked across the country’s biggest commercial radio brands, including Metro FM, 5FM, YFM and Kaya FM – making him the only South African to have held on-air roles at all of the SABC’s top commercial stations and Kaya FM. Today, he continues to entertain a loyal national audience on Metro FM.

Beyond broadcasting, Thomas is a highly experienced event MC and corporate host. His calm professionalism, humour, and impeccable timing make him a sought-after facilitator for high-profile events, brand activations, award ceremonies and golf days. He has worked with global brands like Coca-Cola, Vodacom, Martell Cognac, and Unilever, hosting international campaigns and fan experiences across France, New Zealand, Ibiza and more.

A passionate golfer, Thomas has been a proud supporter of the Gary Player Invitational since 2009 and frequently hosts or participates in major tournaments including the Laureus Golf Day and the Vodacom Origins of Golf.
