Shahan Ramkissoon
Shahan Ramkissoon is a prominent news anchor on eNCA. He presents ‘NewsNight’ from 9-11pm. He’s known for holding politicians accountable, especially for challenging them on allegations of corruption.
The 35-year-old has been described as the voice of South Africans, who are fed up with public funds being looted. Shahan has recently been trending for his no-nonsense approach in search of the truth.
He’s been a field reporter and anchor for 16 years and has also worked in London and New York as a correspondent and show host.
Shahan has moderated and MC’d the Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans Awards, the SA Top Business Awards and the LGBTI Business Summit, to name a few.
Shahan has recently trended on social media for his no-nonsense approach in search of the truth.
He started writing for the Young Daily News in Durban at age of 14 when he felt he needed to expose his school for withholding report cards of poor students who couldn’t afford their fees; his exposé led to the education department taking action against school officials and that’s when he realised the power of journalism. Since then, he’s been motivated to bring about change through the stories he tells.
Shahan then moved to the SABC as a radio reporter and news reader, while completing his journalism qualification at the Durban University of Technology.
He’s been field journalist and anchor for 16 years and has also worked in London and New York as a correspondent and show host.
