Iman Rappetti

Iman Rappetti spends a great deal of her working life facilitating high-profile events and difficult conversations on behalf of multinational and local organisations. She is also the host of SABC’s news and current affairs programme ‘Full View’.

As a senior television news anchor, reporter and radio talk show host, her work has garnered respect and numerous awards and she is a formidable and highly-respected figure in the SA media landscape.

Iman is also an author whose two books, ‘Becoming Iman’ (2018) and ‘Sermons of Soul’ (2020) were critically acclaimed.

As a journalist, she has spent many years covering politics and current affairs. She began her journalism career in the Islamic Republic of Iran, hosting a weekly television current affairs programme and a popular interactive radio show for the national broadcaster’s English language service.

In South Africa she has worked for the major broadcasters and print media, including the SABC, eNCA, Talk Radio 702, Gauteng-based station Power 987, and Business Day.

Iman is happiest when telling stories that reach into the complexities, the triumphs, and the tragedies of communities around the country. She likes to show South Africa’s true face – and confront its challenges. She enjoys having real and frank discussions about what needs to be done to take the country forward. She is also unflinchingly focused on holding power to account.

Iman has engaged celebrities, senior politicians and thought leaders, including Presidents Cyril Ramaphosa, Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma, and internationally-recognised figures like Richard Branson, Oprah and Michelle Obama, but Iman insists that it is always the conversations with ordinary families and communities that are, for her, the most powerful and thought-provoking.

She has founded a wholly-black, women-owned boutique communications agency that focuses on supporting and growing women in business. It also offers compelling, contemporary content products to private and public sector companies.
