With almost 20 years in national broadcast-journalism, Cathy is an award-winning broadcast journalist and radio talk show host. She hosts the daily primetime news bulletin, Newz@Prime from 18h00 – 20h00 on Newzroom Afrika.

On radio, Cathy is heard daily on SAfm, anchoring “The Talking Point” from 09h00 – 12h00. The show recently won the 2022 National Radio Award for best PBS Daytime Show.

Cathy is sought after as a moderator, MC, facilitator or panel chairperson. She’s become a regular on South Africa’s corporate stages and online event platforms.

She started as a reporter and radio anchor for Talk Radio 702’s Eyewitness News and in 2009 she won the National Press Club Radio’ Journalist of the Year’ award. She then transitioned to TV where she hosted the eNCA and ETV Primetime Bulletins, and covered stories of national and international importance, including the life of Nelson Mandela and the Oscar Pistorius murder trial.

Her accomplishments also include being selected to take part in the CNN Journalism Fellowship; being selected as a fellow for US President Barack Obama’s ‘Young African Leaders Initiative’ (YALI) and having been named as one of the leading women in broadcasting by local publications.
