In the real world, Michael lectures in statistics and he was on the staff of Wits University for 3 years, during which time he won the ‘Convocation Best Lecturer Award’ in the Science Faculty, after being nominated by his students.
In the sporting arena, this multi-award-winning personality has worked as a sports broadcaster on TV and radio for over 25 years, covering major sporting events in all the major sporting codes and is the only broadcaster in SA sporting history to win the prestigious SAB Radio Broadcaster of the Year award more than 3 times (6 times in seven years between 1998 and 2004 inclusive). He also won the Castle Premiership TV Commentator of the Year and the Coca-Cola TV Commentator of the Year 3 times.
